Spell of Harmony EP
For this CD to be released after all the difficulties with labels, distribution
and manufacture, it must have been the 8th wonder of the world for Paul
Handley. It would have been a great shame if the 'Spell of Harmony' EP
disappeared without a sound into his archive. The 7 songs on the EP show
Beltane in a different musical context, which is intentionally more danceable,
but also more experimental and more accessible musically. The airy, heavenly
vocals are less present and the remix versions of the songs which are
already released on 'World of Dreams' and 'The Fire of Becoming' are more
upfront and less atmospheric. The songs gain additional appeal through
the variety of female singers, and Paul Handley creates complex but not
overbearing arrangements with a passionate attention to the intricate
details of the compositions. This in itself should be sufficient incentive
to purchase this timeless CD directly from the bands self-owned label
